Semi-Aggressive Community System.
These systems are very similar to the typical community aquarium except for the fish themselves are typically a little larger and are usually more aggressive.  This is an excellent choice for someone that is looking for something a little different in the way of a freshwater aquarium with a more complex social structure within the group of fish living within the tank.

The semi-aggressive community has many options as far as set up goes.  There are fish large and small that fit into this category.  The average semi-aggressive community system is a medium sized tank with some fast moving schooling fish and a few larger "Center Piece" fish.  These systems can be either planted or non-planted depending on the livestock and bright lighting is recommended to bring out the irridescence that is present in many of the commonly available specimens such as rainbowfish, bala sharks, and silver dollars.  These systems work very well as biotopes and can be very accurate representations of a naturally existing environment while still having a good variety.

These systems will fit very well into almost any room.  Bars, play areas, or any high traffic room would work just fine as the fish in these tanks are usually a little hardier.  The semi aggressive community is a great choice for rooms where viewing up close is difficult as well since the fish choices can be a little bigger and the flashy colours more eye catching.
